Ode to Friendship

I, Aryan, made this ode in my notebook at the beginning of the year to all my friends to appreciate how awesome they are. I wouldn’t have a good school year without them. I wouldn’t even have survived the first month of school without them. I suggest making an ode about something you like or love.

Hello, this is Anshu, I am just as passionate as Aryan about my friends, they always give me hope when I am feeling down and they are always there for me when I need them. In fact Aryan is one of my friends and he is an awesome one, but sometimes my other friend get’s a bit out of control and Aryan and I have to calm him down. I could not be the same without them though, and I am very happy that they are here.

My name is Aryan. I am the blogger that made this ode. I love making poems about things I love to do or things I generally love. I love dogs, but my mom is allergic to dog fur, and she says it is too much of a responsibility. I also love video games. It calms me down and gets rid of my stress. 1. Aryan and Anshu - Reading your post was a fabulous way to begin my morning. I love thinking about friends and those I love and and honoring them in my notebook is a great idea. Sometimes when we take time to write about or draw someone or something, we come to appreciate and understand this person or thing even more. You are both wise to stop to appreciate your friends. I am now thinking about this thoughtful ode and how really, if you wanted to, you could write more odes from it - tucked within each part is a way your friends are wonderful and each is surely its own story. So cool how writing can beget more writing. Today I will write an ode, with gratitude to you. Thank you for sharing in this space. xx

  2. Good writers pull experiences and inspiration from their life, just like you did here. In turn, your writing can inspire others. Here is something I want to share about my friends, inspired by both of you and what you wrote today:

    Friends are...
An ear to listen and trust
A voice to calm and advise
A hand to hold and guide
A heart to love and welcome
A smile to reassure and lighten
A laugh to lighten and comfort
    A friend makes life whole.

Thank you for the writing inspiration! ❤️

  3. An ode to friends and other things loved is a wonderful thing, Aryan, something to make those "things" smile and you happy as you write or re-read. And I love hearing the excitement about writing and blogging, capturing bits of your life right now! I imagine you'll love reading it years from now, too! Thanks to both of you for the Friday smiles!

  4. You two are lucky to have each other as friends, Aryan and Anshu, and I can tell by your voices that come through this post that you are both lively and creative. An ode to friends is a great idea - friends help us through rough times and help celebrate the good times, and we can do the same for them! Nice work.
