TEAMS

Sometimes coming up with ideas to write about might be hard.

If you like sports then we have a great idea for you. It is better if you do it for your own team. We enjoy writing about our league and our team. We made a setup in our notebooks to update each week so we wouldn’t feel bored.

Karthik came up with the idea at first and I copied him we both listed our games, our record, the outcome, our teammates, and our friends on other teams. We included a little sentence or two about each game. We both apologize for our handwriting as it is nearly impossible to read. We were on the same team for the Ashburn Youth Basketball League(AYBL). We were both on a team called the Warriors. We went into the playoffs but lost in the 1st round by 4 points. We both show great interest in sports and especially basketball.

We couldn’t think of ideas so we came up with this unique way for sports lovers. Notebooks have changed us as writers as we could now be free and write about things we liked.

  1. Happy birthday, Karthik! And thank you both Satvik and Karthik for sharing these pages and this idea with all of us today. What fun it will be for you to go back and revisit these games - I played basketball in a league for years and loved every minute. If I had kept a notebook then, I would absolutely have tried this idea. Now I will share it with the young athletes I know. I hope there's a good movie for you today, Karthik! And yes...I feel free in my notebook too! Peace. xx

  2. These posts remind me of the beauty of notebooks - that no everything need to feel like a complete story - thank goodness or I would never write. Lately I have done more of this kind of work in my notebook and it makes me feel good. I am not a sports person, but I jut down important dates related to one topic or statistics I read in the newspaper and it makes me happy to have so much to say so quickly. I also find I think about these numbers later on in the day after I have written. Thanks for this
