What Are Notebooks?

Notebook Time: Lakshita

Notebooks are so lame at least, I thought they were. Ms. Haseltine has showed us that notebooks could be more than that. It honestly depends on what you choose to write about. Here are some things to write about to make your notebook cool again. ✌️

Notebook Time: Michelle

Notebook Time. What is it. Notebook Time is a time to express. You should not feel like you have to hold back. Your notebook should be an outlet for your feelings. If you’re sad write your feelings down, if you’re happy sing a l'il song and write it down. If you’re feeling angry, write a poem ‘bout your anger. See, there are so many ways to express yourself through notebooking, so take just few minutes to write ‘bout your feelings today.

Notebooks: Athena
You know notebooks are a thing...  yeah that's it.
Just kidding ( ͡° ʖ̯ ͡°) notebooks are beautiful thing, you can share your feelings
( ͠° ͟ʖ ͡°)”Athena I’m pretty sure that’s called a diary” *Scoff* whatever.

Anyway, notebooks are great now here's some writing ideas for notebooking:
  • Write a poem with your favorite song lyrics
  • Make a secret code then write something
  • Write an entire notebook entree backwards
  • Make a blackout poem
There's much more to write about.
So notebook your heart out  people.

Those are some things to make your notebook cool again. Have fun kids.
Sincerely, Friend Michelle, Friend Athena, Friend Lakshita.

  1. Love this post! I can hear each of your voices so clearly!! Write an entire entry backwards? Hmmmm, I'm intrigued. I may be trying this today during our notebook time. I wonder what this would look like. Thanks for the inspiration!

  2. These are great suggestions, ladies! I never thought of writing a notebook entry backwards. I like it, though—it might make it harder for other people to read. I wish I had known about this trick when I was younger to keep my sister away from my diary. 🤣

  4. Oh, I am now finding myself happily remembering some fun with secret codes...and this makes me remember when my friend Keisha and I would pretend to be sisters...and when we would pretend to speak in a made up language that we were sure sounded like a real language but was just gibberish...and well, I am ready to "notebook my heart out." Thank you for these thoughts and ideas that have me off and running! I hope that you continue to enjoy your notebooks over summer. I so wish I'd kept them at your age. I'd love to go back to a grade 6 notebook and remember my life then! Peace. xx
