Try This! - Pick a Page and Find a Poem or Zentangle

From Margaret Simon:

I love words, but sometimes I just can’t seem to think of my own. So I steal from others.  Especially from my favorite authors.  Words will pop out of the page and ask to be put into a poem.  These are called “found poems” because you don’t actually write them, you find them.

Another way to find a poem is to take a page of text that you love and photocopy it.  On the copy, circle the words you want to make the poem. Then black out the rest.

Or you can make a Zentangle design on the page.  There are lots of Zentangle designs on the Internet.  Zentangle uses a different part of your brain and can be very relaxing.

Here's mine - a poem and a Zentangle around it:

Lucky

Lucky
wants to see.
He seems very happy to me.
We learn from dogs.
They don’t ask, “Why me?”
They find a new way to be happy.
Setting something free takes faith.
