Every notebooker has a way to express themselves in their notebook. My way is a little unusual, but it helps me a lot. What I like to do on one page is just fill the pages with words that I would use to describe myself. I fill the entire page and I just write words, scribble, make mistakes, and color all over the place. I like to do it when I am upset and sad. I also like to do it when I am so mad, irritated, and angry that if one more person says something I don’t like or upsets me then my head will literally fall off and explode!
I love to do it so much and helps calm me. I have only done it twice, but both times, right after I have felt a lot better. It is a fun way to use pages in my notebook and it is fun to go back and look at it. I think it is such a fun and creative way to use pages in my notebook.
Hi I am Brielle, I am a 6th grader in Ms. Haseltine's class. I love to blog so when I heard about the blog takeover I got really excited and wanted to do it. I am really happy I did it because it was a lot of fun. I hope you enjoyed this blog post and that sometime you will get the chance to check out my blog, Write Your Heart Out.

Notebooks are there for us in quite personal ways as you've so beautifully shown. It's great to see this idea that will give others a new way to use their notebooks. Thanks, Brielle!
ReplyDeleteHi Brielle! I love how reflective your post is. I think turning to your notebook in times of frustration and upset is a wonderful idea. Do you do the same when you are happy too? The notebook is a good friend like that—always there for you, whenever and however you need it.

Brielle! You have such a pretty name that I can imagine you might want to write it over and over in big colorful letters. This idea makes me smile, and I am absolutely going to try it. Something about all of that rainbow word joy - it would have to cheer a person up. Have you ever tried taking one of the words, placing it atop a new page, and writing from it...you never know what you might come up with. Thank you so much for sharing here. This blog takeover has been wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI'm like you, Brielle, I like to use my notebook for writing words and feelings when I just can't seem to put two complete thoughts together. Usually when I'm angry, but sometimes when I am sad about something. And Amy has a great idea about using one of your words to write from. I'm going to have to try that.
ReplyDeleteI love that each of these posts teaches me something new. I always write in my notebook when I'm upset, but never like this. Brilliant! Can't wait to try it. Thank you, Brielle, for sharing your wonderful pages and ideas!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing, Brielle. Great way to use your notebooks and get those feelings out, too! Keep writing! :0)
ReplyDeleteI find it interesting how different writers take different approaches. Some like to fill the page, as you do, with a rainstorm of words and images, and then find the best to use for something else. Others like space, and room for words to breathe. Both methods are fine. The key is to find what works for you.
